the nursery

The ladder was a garage sale find

I found the mirror at Ross for just $20. The beautiful quilt was sewn by Michael's grandmother for our wedding.

Goodwill find for just $8! Just needed a coat of spray paint

Frames from the thrift store that I spray painted white!

*these were mine when I was just a baby

More items from the thrift store that I spray painted either pink or white

I used to have this frame in my sewing room for holding scissors and measuring tape. After some spray paint and shabby chic fabric it's perfect for holding adorable things for our little girl.

I painted this dresser a couple of years ago, it was an auction find. The lamp was a DIY project you can see here.

Yep, our little girl even gets her own pink doorknob!

Won't be long and a little girl will be occupying this adorable pink room. We can't wait!

life lately

We are just three weeks away from our due date! So crazy. Over the weekend I was given the best baby shower an expecting momma could ask for (pics from that coming soon) and plan on spending the next few weeks doing pretty much nothing
Just going to relax.
Take some naps.
Read a book or two.
Snuggle my two pups.
Dream about the little girl we are about to meet.

Happy Monday!

one month to go . . .

First of all, Happy Friday!

I'm so excited the weekend is here. The hubby and I have so many projects to do and we can't wait to start tackling them! Secondly, we are exactly one month from our due date! *gasp* Of course she can and will come whenever she is ready, but it's still crazy to think how soon she will be here. I'm starting to feel the pressure and anxiety of having everything ready before her arrival! I'm also curious to how the pups are going to handle the change. I have no doubt my golden retriever, Whiskey, will be the best little helper there ever was and will shower her with wet puppy kisses every day. I can see our other pup, Banjo, becoming a bit jealous though and may give her the cold shoulder for awhile. We will just have to wait and see.

Well, I'm off to start some craft projects! Most of which are for her nursery : )
Enjoy your weekend!

Baby & Belly: 35 weeks

I can't believe we're at 35 weeks! I actually lost count (any other moms out there guilty of that?) and I seriously thought I was around 33 weeks! The move to our new home has just made everything fly by apparently. I haven't even had a chance to hang my "pregnancy tracker" frame on a wall yet!

How far along? 35 weeks
Baby Size: She's about the size of a honeydew melon
Total weight gain: 32 lbs. Feeling large and in charge!
Maternity clothes? So I finally purchased my first pair of maternity jeans around 33 weeks and they are amazing! Really wish I would have bought them a long time ago. Note to future moms... give in to the maternity jeans!
Food cravings: Ice cream! Ben and Jerry's has been in my freezer for at least four months now.
Feeling: Good! I will say my feet have started to swell and by the end of the day they can ache a bit, but that's about it.
Best moment this week: Finishing the paint job in the nursery, now we just need to add some decor details and it will be all ready for our little girl!
Sleep: Don't have a problem sleeping, but rolling over is no fun at all. I have to mentally build myself up for about five minutes before attempting to roll over.
Miss Anything? Being able to paint my toes, put socks on, and bend over without getting so exhausted.
Movement: Still getting plenty of movement, but now it's so much stronger. Some kicks and movements can really take my breath away.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Looking forward to: My baby shower is coming up! So excited to see the lovely ladies in my life and celebrate this little girl!

Have a great day!

an unsuccessful outfit post

With an incoming thunderstorm, sooner-than-expected dead camera battery, and two crazy happy dogs, it's a miracle I got any pictures at all of this outfit. Honestly, all I wanted was to share my love for this new LC Lauren Conrad Boyfriend Blazer. I just wanted to show it's gorgeous cream color and relaxed yet flattering fit. That's all. Now that I think about it, the only one cooperating was the baby in my belly. She must be a future fashionista who will understand how great it is to be eight months pregnant and actually feel stylish. Definitely. I'm so proud.

Thank you baby..... and Lauren Conrad.

Have a lovely Tuesday!

our weekend

The hubs and I tackled quite a few projects over the weekend, but hands down the most exciting was painting the nursery! Of course I had to make these pics black and white, I can't give away too much on the big "before and after" reveal! I don't think I've ever been more excited to share pictures of a completed project. Probably because there is so much special meaning behind this one. One day, I'm sure our little girl will see these pictures and say, "you two were such dorks! and look how young you were!" I'll tell her, "yes, that is all true...and we were also beyond excited to be just weeks away from meeting our little girl".

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Nursery pics coming soon!
