Thrifty Thursday's

FACT: I love bargain hunting.
I also love sharing with others how and where I find my thrifty treasures. This is my first blog post for Thrifty Thursday's. I look forward to sharing everything from ideas on how to decorate your home for less to how to look oh-so-stylish on a dime! Which just so happens to be my first post... taking fashion inspirations and hunting through all of Boise, Idaho (this isn't hard to do) to recreate them for much less. My weapons include thrift stores, consignment stores, clearance racks at department stores, garage sales, etc.

I'm sure most of you know of Pinterest (if you don't, I'm warning you...its addicting). This is where I found the following adorable outfit...

Pinterest Inspiration

and here is the Rustic Living Transformation...

Dog and flannel go so well together don't you think? Black skinny jeans came from a consignment store for $12.00...Red Flannel also from a consignment store - $8.00

Gold Chain necklace (Forever 21) - $4.50

 Inspiration #2
(This is from the blog The Daybook, which I LOVE) check it out!

Rustic Living Transformation

I was having a hard time finding a cable-knit sweater that looked as cute as hers! Then I came across this cream colored sweater at a thrift store for just $3.50, SOLD! I got the blue-striped button up from a consignment store for $14.00

Notice the adorable belt? Check this out, I MADE .25 cents off of it. Yup, a profit. I took some summer clothes I no longer wanted into a consignment store and sold a couple items. Making the belt FREE and some. Jeans (Forever 21) - $9.00 Tan Keds (thrift store) - $5.00

You may have noticed I didn't include a purse in either of these outfits.
That's because I hate them.
My father refers to them as "black holes"....I just so happen to agree.

With a little patience and determination I believe you can re-create any outfit for significantly LESS. I'm looking forward to next weeks Thrifty Thursday! Come back and check it out!

  1. It'd be awesome if you linked similar outfits from Forever 21, Target, JCPenney etc alongside your thrift store bargains so that readers who don't have time to go consignment shopping can buy the outfit too! :) SUPER cute outfits, great job Ash.

  2. Love these, especially the first plaid one! I love to shop at Goodwill, I have one right across the street from my job, one about 5 minutes away from my house and 3-4 others within 15-30 minutes of me. I used to go to the two of them almost every single day.. I have been cutting back though and trying to not go as often, but its hard to beat books for a dollar and home decor dirt cheap!
I was just at the one store today and got two super cute belts, two tshirts, two glass jars I am going to use for a project, a fall table runner that looks like it came from TJ Maxx or Ross its really nice, and two towels for only $9!
I will be doing a post on it tonight hopefully.

  5. Great looks for so cheap! I need to actually look at the clothes in the thrift store. I always just skim by those and never really look.
