Frisbee Golf and Coupons

That's an odd title. I'm always sad to see Saturday and Sunday go. We had such a beautiful, fun-filled weekend. The hubby and I did some house hunting (we are in the beginning stages of this exciting/terrifying event), cleaned out the garage, and played some frisbee golf with friends. I've never played this sport before but I've thrown a frisbee around quite a bit in my time, so I thought I would dominate this sissy game.

Nope. I'm terrible. It was quite humbling.
Michael had to fish out my disc after I dumped it in the pond, twice.

What a guy! Thank goodness we went out for pizza and wings after. I'm really good at eating comfort food.  We had such a great time with this beautiful couple!

Another thing I was able to do this weekend was coupon. Now let me just tell you that I am NOT one of those people that has a basement stocked with hundreds of bottles of ketchup and mountains of toilet paper. That is called EXTREME couponing. I love getting great deals, but I like to keep it simple too.

I went to coupons.com to print off these coupons. Then I combined them with a local stores coupons called "Doublers". For example, the first coupon pictured below is for .75 off a gallon of milk. The doubler makes it $1.50 off. Nice!

I used a coupon and a doubler for each item below. This SHOULD have cost me $24.45.
I payed just $10.45 !

My favorite deal from the coupons? The yogurt was FREE and the toothpaste just .49 cents.
I love saving on groceries. I like this website for coupon tips if you want to learn more.

Hope you all had a great weekend. I've been working hard on making my pillows available for purchase and I'm excited to say I'll have them available for order this week! Yay!

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.—Colossians 3:12 (NIV)

  2. I just started couponing this year myself. Like you, I refuse to have mountains of toothpaste and shampoo. I started in January, and I've saved just about $70 on my grocery bills so far just counting the coupon savings alone. I thought couponing was a load of crap, but after I was "schooled" by some friends, found out that's not the case. It does help!
