Furry Friday

Not very often do I open up personally on this little blog. It's not that I don't feel comfortable, I guess I just like to leave that raw deep stuff to other ladies who truly have a gift sharing their thoughts, experiences, and wisdom to the whole world with a few strokes on a keyboard. I typically stick with home decor tips and endless pictures of my dogs.

But . . .

I've been thinking a lot lately about this blog and what it means to me. To be honest, I feel like it's gotten a bit off track from where it began and why I started it in the first place. As a blogger, it's real easy to get caught up in this virtual world. To compare yourself and lose yourself. I'm really hoping at least some of you know what I'm talking about here. I'm just glad that I've noticed this in myself in it's early stages and am ready to nip that in the butt! With that being said, I want to get back to why I started Rustic Living. I only want to write posts that I feel are genuine, mean something to me, and do good in one way or another. I want to get away from "filler" posts, it's the quality not quantity that matters.

Take Furry Friday for example. To say I'm a dog lover is an understatement. I'm currently working on a way to use my passion for sewing/crafting and turning it into a way to help our furry friends. Maybe that means designing and sewing dog pillows and donating them to a local shelter? I'm not sure what exactly, but I do know that God has put it on my heart.

Another thing from the Furry Friday pics above, I've tried doing those "outfit posts" that so many other ladies ROCK on their blogs. I love seeing their sense of style and definitely find myself being inspired. But for me, I'm in sweats and old high school t-shirts about 90% of the time. That's me and that's what your going to see more often.

So I'm happy to say that Friday is here and I'm looking forward to coming back on Monday with a fresh start! Thanks for letting me open up a bit, wishing you all a lovely weekend!

These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold--though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
