where He and She became We

After making these pillows for Valentine's Day, I was anxious to create some more. I've been needing some for our couch and fell in love with a couple patterns I came across at the fabric store. I also made another "where He and She became We" pillow, this time with our wedding date.

I'm currently working on making personalized pillows available for purchase!

Can you really have too many pillows?
I hope to have some info on ordering pillows available soon. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Well Hello Good Lookin'

Well I would sure hope that you all can notice something! Rustic Living got a beautiful new look all thanks to the amazing talents of Dana from Wonder Forest. To say that I'm in love with the look would be an understatement. I've been following Dana's work for awhile now and decided she was the one I wanted to transform my blog after seeing her skills at Story Of My Life (another fantastic blog!) She captured exactly what Rustic Living is about, a simple country girl that loves to transform the ordinary into something beautiful and special.

Thank you Dana!

Let it Rain

It's a rainy day in Boise today so instead of painting in a cold dark garage I'm sipping coffee and sharing some cuteness . . .

I found these colorful paper clips at a thrift store for just $2.50

Like the weekday meal plan and shopping list? It's from Real Simple, download and print!

For all you bloggers here is an adorable planner I came across from Oh The Lovely Things. Free printable!

Enjoy!

Piano Bench becomes Nightstand

Happy Monday!

The hubby and I scored some great thrift store finds over the weekend. My favorite being this piano bench I got for $20. Definitely an aha-moment. It was a little beat up, but that is probably why I fell in love with it. A classic trash to treasure.

As soon as I noticed the top of the bench opened I knew it would make an adorable rustic nightstand.

Hope you all had a fulfilling weekend! I can't believe we're over half way through February. I'm looking for signs of Spring. Wishful thinking, but I just can't wait!

Tortellini Vegetable Bake

Happy Friday! If you're looking for something scrumptious to eat this weekend, try this recipe out. I'm pretty sure in another life I lived in Italy and ate creamy pasta like this on daily basis . . .

Sous chef.

Oooohh yeah. The Tortellini Vegetable Bake.
Give it a try! The recipe is right here.

Our V-Day

Hope you had a great Valentine's Day! I've got a fun project coming up that I can't wait to share!

Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe.—Philippians 2:14-15 (NIV)

What's Your Love Story?

I'm linking up with From Mrs. to Mama today!

How long have you been married?
It will be 3 years on June 10th!

How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
It was game night with our bible study, we met on Hole 3 at a miniature golf course! : ) Our bible study was held every Tuesday, needless to say I spent all week looking forward to that day. Michael was also a wide receiver for the Boise State Broncos, I spent the majority of each football game watching him instead of the field, wondering if he even knew I existed! We spent 6 months getting to know each other and developing a friendship before going on our first date. By then I already knew that I would marry him!

Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
 Darlin'. Babe. Hun. Sugar.

Where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?
We were married at Michael’s parents property in the country, it was absolutely beautiful. My Grandpa married us! There were about 175 people.

Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
1. He has a gift with people I have never witnessed before. He has such a big heart and is full of compassion.
2. Michael is a sensitive soul and has no problem showing it! I love the moments when he will shed a tear from being overcome with happiness and gratefulness.
3. I love how he always sees the good in the people. Everyday I try to be more like him in how I interact with people and see the world. Michael is always a light in the darkness.

Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
Michael and I are such homebodies. Sometimes we wonder if we take it to the extreme! So our favorite kind of date is to pick up a Redbox and make dinner or pick up pizza. Just us and our puppies!

Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
We would either go on an African Safari or eat endless bowls of spaghetti in the Italy countryside!

Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
We saw the play "Pride & Prejudice" this last Friday and loved it! So we plan to watch the Keira Knightley version and make homemade pizza.

Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Always be appreciative of one another. Tell each other every day that you love them and what makes you grateful for them, from the little things to the big things. From "thank you for transferring the laundry from the washer to the dryer" to "I appreciate and respect how hard you work to provide a loving home for your family".
And keep laughing!

Show us a picture of what love means to you.

Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.—Joel 2:13 (NIV)

Dreaming Summer Lake

I've decided that I'm officially sick of Winter. I'd be quite the joyful girl if Spring would show her pretty colorful face early this year. Shoot, I'm already dreaming of Summer! The smell of fresh mowed lawns and barbecues, spending just about every weekend around a campfire, drive-in theaters with endless buckets of buttery popcorn with the tailgate down, and summer nights that keep me out way past my bedtime.

Ah yes. Soon it will be here. Until then, I will just live vicariously through my furniture (just kidding, you can't really do that) and paint this nightstand a beautiful blue-grey called SUMMER LAKE.

I love distressing. It's the best way to add character.

In case you're wondering, I got the photo frame from a thrift store for just over a dollar. The adorable basket surprisingly wasn't a thrift store find, it came from Fred Meyer! It was on sale for just over $10, which I didn't think was too bad. I couldn't resist it's rustic-ness.

Have a great weekend!
